Lady5 is back, back, back again! And more important than ever! Get dressed up, celebrate queerness, and take up space in a world where there’s erosion of queer rights and expression! This year’s theme is “All that Glitters” - interpret it however you’d like!
Celebrating Black and POC burlesque, our beauty, tough and tenderness, the glitter and grime of our resistance and survivorship
Lady5 is a combination of amateur drag competition and dance party. The first 10 people to arrive with a song on a USB key or Spotify-searchable song will have a chance to do a number on the main stage in front of our judges panel to win 2023’s title! After the competition, DJ Regina Gently will spin fun and flirty tunes. And ticket sales support Rainbow Railroad. Dressing up is not mandatory, but STRONGLY ENCOURAGED.
The evening will be peppered with performances by previous Lady5 winners, the springy sensation Vita Love, and hosted by the Lady that started it all, Molly Farton!
Our staff have been monitoring provincial and city regulations, and have used this information to create a COVID-19 Safety Package for visitors, artists, and staff while at Buddies.
