Resurrection Live: A Michael Callen Cabaret

The Resurrection Podcast presents: A Michael Callen Cabaret

This Spring, a new season of the hit queer podcast, Resurrection, is launching, diving into lesser-known stories from the early AIDS crisis in the 1980s. One of the people the podcast is profiling is named Michael Callen—he is largely credited with inventing the modern approach to safe sex (along with Richard Berkowitz and Dr. Joseph Sonnabend). Michael also was a leader in the PWA self-empowerment movement and did extensive writing and community work in New York City and beyond throughout the 1980s. He passed away from AIDS-related causes in 1993.
Michael Callen was also a musician and recorded three albums during his lifetime.
In a tribute to Michael Callen's life and music, Resurrection is going live. We're putting on a show that's half-podcast, half-cabaret, all about the life and music of Michael Callen. The host of Resurrection, Dane Stewart, will tell Michael's story while the fabulous cabaret-singer, Andrew Morrisey, performs Michael's music live!
