Join queer sketch comedians Elena Eli Belyea and Syd Campbell in this class their younger selves dreamed of. Using comedy we'll explore queer narratives in fun and hilarious ways, while also experimenting with POV (point of view) as a way of constructing pointed social critiques based on each participants' specific lived experience. We'll play games, then watch, write, and share a a bunch of sketch, with the primary focus of bringing joy to our queer bodies. This class is open to registration exclusively for folks who self-identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community. Both experienced, savvy improvisers and people trying comedy for the first time are very welcome!
Our staff have been monitoring provincial and city regulations, and have used this information to create a COVID-19 Safety Package for visitors, artists, and staff while at Buddies. Additionally, all guests will be required to wear a mask and show proof of COVID-19 vaccination to attend Buddies events.
